Who is a Young Carer?
A Young Carer is a young person, aged up to the age of 18, who cares for a family member in their own home. Usually a Parent, Grandparent or Sibling.
What We Do
Young carers can be affected in many ways. they can do an extensive level of physical care, provide emotional support and often undertake
This can lead to physical and emotional stress. Often a young carer's social life and schooling can be effected.
At Hambleton & Richmondshire Carers Centre Young Carer Support Workers offer one-to-one support providing a much needed listening ear. We can also advocate on a young carer's behalf, negotiate coping stratagies with school and other agencies
